The leader of a task force must ensure the proper coordination, management,and tactical objectives for all activities through an entire event. This training will prepare professionals to understand organization structure,operating procedures, safety practices,terminology,and communication protocols for the various task force officers and managers.
- Course Enabling Objectives
At the completion of this course the student will:
- Explain the history of the National US&R Response System and the integration of the Incident Support Team (IST) and task forces into the local infrastructure
- Describe the different task force deployment cycles
- Explain the use of various US&R forms and terminology
- Describe the working relationship between the IST,task force and the Task Force Leader
- Identify the task force organizational structure and the functional responsibilities of each position
- Explain the readiness,response,and post-mission activities of the task force
- Manage a task force equipment cache and logistics issues before,during,and after a response operation
- Recognize task force liability and legal issues and consequences
- Identify and resolve task force safety and security issues
- Manage a task force during tactical operations
- Demonstrate the Task Force Leader's responsibilities and functional interactions during a table-top deployment exercise
